Weekly Update October 9 [Sunday Post/Stacking the Shelves]

Welcome to the weekly update (October 9th) on BTH Reviews!

BTH Reviews Weekly Update (September 3)

This is our chance to talk about things going on in our lives, share new books we’ve received, and recap the previous week’s posts. I link this post up to two popular book blogger memes: The Sunday Post and Stacking the Shelves.

The Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

It’s a chance for book bloggers to share news, give updates, and recap the previous week.

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews. It’s a weekly meme to share your new books.

Weekly Update October 9, 2017

What’s Been Going On…

I’ve come to the conclusion that these updates are not always going to be on Sundays. If I can get one up by Monday, I’m not going to feel bad about it or apologize anymore.

I’ve got bigger things to worry about. My teenage daughter is currently hospitalized for mental health issues. It’s a very emotional and difficult time. Also, my son might be leaving this week for Navy bootcamp. The last time they said he was going to go, they changed their minds. So, I’m not holding my breath, but I’m preparing myself for it in case it actually happens this time.

Today, I got an unexpected day off. Our truck was cancelled, and tomorrow we will be receiving two trucks. So, they told me to stay home today and work extra tomorrow. I’m going to try to get a lot of posts set up today, plus work on laundry.

Weird Places Cats Sleep

This is something I’ve been doing for fun for a while now. I have been collecting photos of my cats sleeping in strangeplaces. It never ceases to amaze me how a cat will shove itself into a weird place and take a nap. In the picture below, my cat Stormy decided to take a nap in one of the metal dog bowls. Good thing the dogs didn’t see him!

From Harper Voyager, I received a paperback copy of BREACH OF CONTAINMENT by Elizabeth Bonesteel. It’s the third book in her Central Corps series (science fiction). I also checked out some books from the public library.

We have a page now for our new books, mainly because I would forget which ones were from the current week before it came time to make this post. So, I’m just going to make it a habit to add every new book to the page.

I’ve also created a Wish List page, but it’s not finished. I’m going to work on this today.

What I Posted Since the Last Update…

No one was interested in joining the TBR Purge Challenge. I probably won’t quit entirely; I’m just not going to waste time making weekly posts. I am debating whether to delete the old posts to cancel it entirely.

Book Releases

I worked on both the October page for book releases and posted my weekly picks.

None this week. I have some in the works.

Plans for the Upcoming Week…

This week, we have a promotion for the Other Worlds box set, which should include a guest post from one of the authors of the box set. We also have a promotion for Midnight Unleashed by Lara Adrian. I’m going to be reviewing it as part of that tour.

I have quite a few other reviews planned. My list of “reviews not written” is up to eleven short stories, novellas, and novels. I’m going to try to get a lot of these created and scheduled today. In between everything else, I also hope to get more work done on some of our pages. And, I’m going to come up with a serious plan to actually get some writing done. I know tomorrow won’t be a day to get anything done, considering I’m working from 10AM-10PM. But, maybe Wednesday night I can accomplish something before or after work.

That’s all for the Weekly Update October 9, 2017

Have a great week of reading and whatever else you have planned!
