The Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

It’s a chance for book bloggers to share news, give updates, and recap the previous week.

Weekly Update August 6, 2017

Some of you know us (Jen and Misty) from our old blog: Books That Hook.

After dealing with a series of unfortunate events that made blogging impossible, we have returned on a new website. We are still technically Books That Hook, but we couldn’t get that URL back without paying a small fortune, so we are now BTH Reviews.

If you were an email subscriber on the old website, please take a moment to sign up again. Everything else–Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Linked In, etc.–haven’t changed.

So that’s the big news for this week. I don’t have anything to recap because I haven’t posted anything new yet on this blog. The few posts I have made were re-posts from the old blog.

Misty and I are going to work on slowly restoring all the reviews, excerpts, guest posts, and interviews. The content that will be permanently gone is: discussions, memes, cover reveals, spotlights, and giveaways. But, we plan on getting back into the swing of blogging to give you new content.

I still want the blog to be for both writers and readers. So I want content that will appeal to both kinds of people.

Some of the changes I have in mind are:

  1. Only take part in tours that have exclusive interviews, guest posts, or reviews. No more spotlights because those don’t give any unique content that hasn’t been posted a dozen times already on other blogs.
  2. Actively seek Writer’s Corner guest posts from established authors to give writing advice.
  3. Make the blog more interactive with features like Ask the Author, Writing Pitfall Discussions, and Writing Prompts.
  4. Keep up with book releases. Post at least once a week about new releases.
  5. Revive the Best Book Covers feature. I might do this once a month instead of weekly so I can keep up with it better.
  6. Make more posts about favorite book series and authors.
  7. Do more for books in genres we don’t typically read.
  8. Recruit more reviewers.

That’s it for this weekly update. If you have any suggestions about things you’d like to see on the blog, we’d love to hear from you.

Have a great week!

  3. Sorry things didn’t work with the URL but glad you are up and running again.

    • I knew it was due to renew, but my father in law passed away and I was dealing with that during the time that GoDaddy deleted everything. So, it sucks that we lost everything, but at least we are back online. Thanks for stopping by.
